Our Costs
Ballybunion Sea &Cliff Rescue maintain two D Class inflatable rescue boats along with the larger Atlantic 75. RIB. We also maintain a purpose-built launching vehicle called a Talus and a 4×4 rescue vehicle. Maintenance alone for this equipment can be quite costly due to the technical nature of most of our equipment.
We also maintain a large boathouse uniquely situated right on the beach in Ballybunion consisting of three bays for housing our boats, launching tractor and 4×4, a drying / turn out room, first aid room, changing rooms, toilet facilities, meeting / training room, kit storage room, crew break room and a communications room.
As an example of costings, this is a breakdown of the equipment needed for each crew member who are sea going. This does not include search PPE which is in the region of €1,000 pp also.
